FERC staff recommended, in an environmental assessment issued April 28, granting a new 50-year license to PacifiCorp's 3.9 MW Weber hydroelectric project located near Bountiful, Utah.

The original license ran from 1938 to 1970, then the facility operated for the next 20 years under annual licenses FERC issued while a dispute played out with the City of Bountiful, which sought to acquire the project.

The current license was issued in 1990 and expires June 1, 2020. PacifiCorp proposes to install fish ladders and to modernize its generating equipment, but expects to maintain the same nameplate capacity.

The average annual generation is 17,000 MWh, but could be reduced by 48 MWh per year to allow whitewater boating in the summer.
