A broken pipe at The Dalles Dam spilled up to 200 gallons of oil into the Columbia River on Dec. 3, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reported. The pipe, called a thrust hub cooling water pipe, is part of a fish unit turbine designed to attract migrating fish to the ladder. Read more
