We are suspending our Fourth Annual Northwest Wholesale Power Markets conference, scheduled for May 27 in downtown Seattle.

The reason, as with so many other recent event cancellations and postponements, is the growing shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, notably including Gov. Jay Inslee's March 16 statewide prohibition on gatherings of more than 50 people.

While we (co-producers NewsData and CJB Energy Economics) won't hold the conference May 27 at the Washington State Convention Center, we are exploring alternatives, including a postponement to another date when it can be safely held, or a web-based format.

We encourage you to send us thoughts on your preferences for a reconstituted event.

We shared the initial content and other plans for the conference in the March 6 Clearing Up.

We will keep you posted on the conference's status, and in the meantime, our best wishes for health and safety to all.
